Thanks for visiting our new blog!  In the days to come, we’ll feature useful information on a variety of topics related to better hearing and hearing care.

The facts about hearing loss in America are stunning:

  • 1 in 3 people over the age of 60 have hearing loss.
  • 1 in 6 Baby Boomers (Age 49-68) have hearing loss.
  • 1 in 14 GEN Xers (Ages 37-48) already have hearing loss.
  • 1 in 5 Teenagers have some type of hearing loss.

And the effects of hearing loss on a person can be devastating, from increased risk of falling and decreased cardiovascular health and hypertension to a significant increase in the development of dementia, depression, anxiety and other mental health issues.

Hearing loss is a serious problem across all segments of our culture, yet only about ONE QUARTER of those with hearing problems ever enter into any kind of treatment for their loss.

The mission of this blog is to help as many people as possible get the facts about hearing loss and to provide answers to their questions.  We hope to provide information in many different ways to make the choice to seek help for hearing loss a positive one.

So stay tuned!  Starting Hear is just getting started!
